We just returned from a week long trip to the French Riviera... this was our "babymoon" before the little one arrives, trying to pack it all in since we'll be pretty homebound in the weeks to come. The 8 hour drive was SPECTACULAR. I can honestly say it was the most beautiful drive I've ever been on. It started in the green German countrysides, heading south and winding through the Swiss/Italian Alps, and then descending into the Italian/French Riviera.
These pics are taken in the Alps. They in no way do it justice... but hopefully it can give you an idea. They were all taken from the car with my iphone.
We saw waterfalls galore.
If you look closely, you can see about ten waterfalls spilling over the mountain here.
The girls were completely oblivious. Kind of sad.
This is my favorite pic
And lakes galore...
And tunnels galore... Ben counted around 170 tunnels similar to this one.
So I'll eventually get to posting pics on the Riviera, but really, the drive was a top highlight of the trip
Wow, this makes me want to go on a road trip! Although nothing around here is quite so picturesque. Can't wait to see more from the rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! This exact trip has been firmly placed on my bucket list for many years now. Congrats on the pending addition and on your already stellar family. I'm completely jealous of your European adventures. Thanks for posting.
